Becoming an Umpire

A National Badged umpire is one who has gained a significant level of competence. However, it does not take many years to reach the C level. Our umpires convenor can provide you with advice and a mentor to help you achieve this goal.

A good first place to start is by reading and mastering the U for Umpiring book which can be bought from Control at Bellingara. The theory examination is now online and can be done at any time and as many times as you like (send your pass result to our Umpires Convenor) - get to it via Netball NSW "becoming an umpire".

Note that before you start umpiring you need to complete the SSNA beginners course. This is a fabulous half day before the season commences and gets you some practical experience before heading out to a Saturday game.
