Our club thrives on the energy and dedication of volunteers and we would love a little extra help to prepare for your upcoming netball season. We currently have several positions open. If you or someone you know can contribute, please reach out to us. No experience is required, you can role-share and you'll receive ample on-going support.
Our club committee is an inclusive and diverse group of friendly people working together as a team, supporting and helping each other with their roles. By giving a few hours of your time, you can ensure the ongoing success of our club. The following committee positions are currently available, with our outgoing committee members on hand to give you support as you transition in these rewarding roles:
These roles must be filled for Cronulla RSL Netball Club to be registered as a club.
The Secretarial position is the main contact person for our club. SSNA will email all the Secretaries of all clubs for any requests, notifications of upcoming events and anything else that needs to be communicated to clubs. The secretary will then relay this information to our committee and/or players.
This position will require your attention before the netball season starts. We have a uniform supply company that supplies all our uniforms and we have is a printed guide with all the codes and contacts you will need to place an order. All uniforms are ordered by players through the Player HQ portal so no money handling is involved. Once players have placed an order, you will be given a printed report listing the player contact information and all the items that they have ordered. It is up to the player to contact you and work out a time suitable time to come and collect their order. You can schedule a timeframe so that multiple people can collect within that timeframe. We only keep a small amount of stock so a reorder may not always be needed unless we get an influx of new players.
Looking for an easy yet essential role? As our Gear Controller, you’ll help ensure every team has the right gear to kick off the competition. We’re a small club with around 10 teams, so this is a straightforward, organized job that only requires your attention four times a year—before and after both the winter and summer seasons. Using a simple spreadsheet, you’ll track and allocate equipment to each team, making sure nothing gets missed. This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys staying organized and wants to help ensure every team is well-prepared and ready to go!
We have an excellent squad of capable umpires, such that our convenor is an allocator of games for each day of play. Being capable with a spreadsheet, keen to communicate clearly with umpires and happy to liaise with other club’s convenors on Facebook are the skills that are required - you do not need to be an umpire or a player.
We must send a representative of our club to monthly meetings with SSNA. These are held at Gymea Tradies and a different person can attend each time, making this an ideal shared role.
Every game needs an umpire! Please sign up to umpire if you are available, you will be paid for each game you umpire. For new umpires, the SSNA provides a short course and we will arrange a mentor to guide you and support you through your games until you feel confident and comfortable.
We are keen to attract more junior teams and that will require more coaches. Note that our 8 and 9 year olds will now play on Friday afternoon, all other teams on Saturdays with rotating time slots. Beginners coaching courses are provided by SSNA.
Our registrations are all conveniently taken online via PlayHQ. Your role will be coordinating and lodging team registrations and organising permissions for any late registrations. After a registration is received, complete or update the players yellow card for submission at the beginning of March as team registrations. Our club is small, there are not many registrations to process and this role is primarily completed pre-season from January to March, with the very occasional late registration coming through up to round 7.
We are a small club full of amazing people and every season we welcome new to area players. We are affiliated with Cronulla RSL Club and would love to expand on the social side of our netball club, offering pre, mid and end of season social events. If this sounds like something you are keen to organise, please contact us for more information.
Please contact our Club President Lynn via email lapham1@optusnet.com.au or phone 0414 975 017 if you are able to take on a position or require more information.
